Pet Insurance

Protecting your pet, and your pocket

We all hope our pets remain happy and healthy. However, if they become unwell, investigations, treatments, and medications can be costly, and there is no equivalent of the NHS for pets.

There are many companies that offer pet insurance. Below are a few things to consider when choosing pet insurance:

Types of cover

Policies vary, ranging from annual cover to lifetime cover. The type of policy you choose will affect the level of cover provided, the excess payable when making a claim, and any exclusions or limitations included within the policy.

Peace of mind

Having a good pet insurance policy in place can significantly reduce the financial stress at what is often an already worrying time.

Staying with the same insurer

Once you have taken out pet insurance, we recommend that you remain with the same policy throughout your pet's lifetime. Conditions recorded in your pet's clinical history may be considered "pre-existing conditions" by a new insurer, meaning treatment costs related to those conditions would not be covered.
